Fifteen teams up with The Prince's Trust

Fifteen recently teamed up with the Prince's Trust to deliver a one-week programme entitled "Get Into" Cooking, to help give unemployed 16-25 year olds a taster of the catering industry.

The programme provided an opportunity for participants to improve their employability in a safe and supportive environment, whilst building skills and confidence alongside other young people facing similar challenges.

Throughout the week, the young people were given a series of challenges from team-building exercises such as spaghetti towers, where they competed against other teams to build the tallest tower using only spaghetti and sellotape, and the Omelette Challenge, which involved the groups attempting to cook an omelette in the quickest amount of time.

The group was also tasked with replicating freshly prepared dishes, which were judged and awarded with prizes. The one-week programme ended with participants creating a three-course meal, where they sourced ingredients from a sourcing trip to Borough Market.

To finish, participants were given an opportunity to gain a Level 1 Food Safety Certificate, which is an essential requirement should they wish to enter the catering industry.

This is an exciting partnership with the Prince's Trust allowing Fifteen to reach out to more young people who are interested in catering as a career.
